Little Sugar Houses

On Saturday our cousins came over: Spencer, Roma, Cassandra, Brendon, Brian, and Meghan, and our good friends Michele and Shona. We made little sugar houses, gingerbread for the girls to work on, and rice krispie treat for Brendon and co.

Here they are speculating on the color spectrum they should represent with the canvas....

Hyrum and Brendon did less decorating and much more EATING!! Hyrum shared every other handful of candy with Shona, who sat under his seat waiting patiently.

Our cousin Brendon is allergic to dairy, wheat, oats, nuts, um pretty much everything, so he has a special rice krispie house.

Still decorating...

Brian and Meghan with their masterpiece.

Goofy smiles. The house is almost done now....

Kindof looks like a Gingerbread Crime Scene, doesn't it?! =0)

And every day since the children have been begging to eat it.

Oh Christmas Tree

Brielle and Hyrum were thrilled to help decorate the tree this year, so much so that they recreate the excitement by reorganizing the ornaments daily.

Happy Halloween!

Finally our kids are old enough to enjoy carving pumpkins. They were so excited!

This is Hyrum scooping the seeds out of the bowl and putting them back in his pumpkin.

Showing Daddy what to do...

Supervising.....

Brielle picked a happy face, Hyrum liked the scared faces....

These are the cute spider cupcakes I made for Brielle's preschool party. (thanks Julie for showing me how!)

Okay, we don't really have pictures of the kids in costume. It was POURING, literally dumping water from the sky here. All of the children raced through our ward's trunk-or-treat in record time. Forty minutes after it began everyone was gone. Since we didn't want to get MORE wet than we already were, we took the children to the mall for the trick or treating they had there. It wasn't great, and I don't really recommend it..... =0) While at the mall we snapped a few pictures but the kids were already tired of being in costume. Oh well, there's always next year.

Happy Halloween!

Pinewood Derby, not just for kids anymore!

This is our Viper-mobile. Our ward had a pinewood derby event for families, and Russell whipped this little baby up in a matter of a couple hours right before the race. All the little boys at the party were envious. =0)

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch with Brielle's preschool group. The children absolutely LOVED it.

There was a hay maze.

A barn slide.

A petting farm. When Brielle saw the kittens and bunnies she was overcome with excitement! She begged and BEGGED me to let her take one home.

And Hyrum begged to take one of these home.

Then the children were taken on a tractor-pulled hay-ride to the pumpkin patch where they each picked out a pumpkin. And then allowed their mothers to carry them....

These are Brielle's classmates. I'm doing a co-op with three other moms, and we each teach for a month at a time. Brielle adores school! She's always pointing out letters and telling me new things.

Snack time.
Ahhh, my favorite. A big pen filled with dry corn kernels. Love it! I'm still shaking corn out of pockets and shoes, but seriously great idea!

Tractor-tricycle course

Hyrum became excited every time the tractor rolled by.

Jumping in the Hay

And yes, another tractor.
