If only our church buildings could have signs as well. I think people would probably fight over the Sign Composer calling!

Just like Uncle Mattie-Pants
This Christmas both Clara and my brother Matt were given Sing-A-Ma-Jigs
Both were initially overwhelmed with the novelty of the toys...
And now they both love their musical little buddies! I just like that a toy that amuses an infant will also entertain a 21 year old missionary.....AND his mission president!
The similarities don't stop there, oh no, we're just getting started. On New Year's eve we were driving for an hour and Clara wouldn't stop fussing. Russell gave her a swedish fish. He held onto it of course, since she's never had solid foods, doesn't have teeth, and shouldn't eat candy for quite some time. Clara immediately stopped crying and sucked away on that swedish fish. She kept sucking until Russ was afraid it would break in two, so he took it away. At which point she screamed. Until he gave her another fish.
I think I remember Matt screaming on car rides unless we popped swedish fish in his mouth too. ;)

Christmas Morning
Sauntering into the living room at 8:00 AM Christmas morning. No we didn't make them stay in their beds until a certain time, that's just when they woke up. And yes both children are wearing boys' pajamas. We bought "How to Train Your Dragon" pj's for Hyrum, and then Brielle begged to have some too, disdaining any suggestions of Princess or Dora pj's instead.
Posing with their scooters.
Brielle had begged and begged for Fin Fin Friends. She would even sing the commercial for you if you didn't know which hot new toy this name referred to. I didn't capture the excitement as soon as she opened the box, but this picture of awe a few minutes later is almost as good. Brielle was also in raptures at receiving Zoobles from both of her Grandma's. Those are her new favorite toys!!
Hyrum really likes his Tonka Play Yard. The motorized trucks drive along the course you set up, doing stunts. It's fun to rearrange the different stunt pieces and the turning parts of track, plus triple bonus points for being easy enough for a 3 year old to do by himself!!
Brielle is hugging her Blossum Bunny. She begged for this bunny from Build-A-Bear ever since last March when it came out in time for Easter. I couldn't rationalize any reason to take her to Build-A-Bear then, so Hyrum and I bought it when she was in Preschool and it's been waiting in the Christmas box for 9 months. She was so surprised!! Though one of my New Year's resolutions is to not buy any Christmas gifts before July. Or maybe just not before May.....we'll see how I do.
And bat at it.
And occasionally suck on it's nose.
