Clara Isabelle and Career Changes

Clara decided to dabble in modeling for a bit.

Here she is modeling headbands for a small national business. She did a great job, even though it was the middle of nap time and about 55 degrees outside. Despite the cold they had her undress down to her skivvies and put on a lacy number.

(*sigh* it's tough to be a model!)

In the end though she decided it wasn't the career for her and now she's pursuing a future in Biochemical Engineering.

First Day of School

Brielle's first day of school was September 7th.

Here she is all ready.

I was going to take her in the car, following her school bus so she could see where it went, but when we saw the bus she begged to ride on it instead.

So Brielle rode the bus, and Hyrum, Clara and I drove behind.  When we were a block from the school we left the school bus and went into the parent parking lot. I put the baby in a stroller and we walked to Brielle's classroom.  And then we waited.  And waited.  We waited for 25 minutes!  Apparently the bus turns down a road a block from the school and makes several more stops.

Brielle ended up arriving at school 15 minutes late.  All the other parents had sat with their kids and gotten them comfortable, helped them color a picture, taken photos, and were leaving by the time my child arrived.

And about 10 seconds after sitting down, Brielle was already tipping her chair back and making herself at home!

Brielle had a wonderful first day of school, and after school I took the children to meet her bus, but the other children got off at our stop and Brielle wasn't there.  So I ran home, put the kids in the car and drove to the school, but Brielle wasn't there either!  She'd been put on the wrong bus, so we had to wait in the office for almost an hour for the bus to finish its route and return to the school.

Fortunately Brielle didn't seem to mind the extra long bus ride!

On Friday night, when I told her there wouldn't be school the next day, she sobbed for 20 minutes.  Brielle LOVES going to school, and I'm very glad that she does!

We're still waiting for Clara's eyes to settle on a color.  I'm guessing they'll switch to hazel, but you never know!

Her hair has lightened up a LOT since she was born.  Now she has the lightest hair of my three children.

Clara's new baby

For Clara's birthday, her Grandma and Grandpa Streadbeck let her pick out a baby doll.  She hugged every single one in the Toy Section of the store, and finally decided this was the one she wanted to bring home.

Clara LOVES baby dolls, she has a few of them, but she likes this new one from Grandma and Grandpa Streadbeck the best!  She carries it all around the house, crawling through the baby gate, then reaching back to drag baby-doll through behind her....

It's hard to tell, but in this picture she is patting her baby.  She loves to hug her dolls, and pat their backs over and over.

 Here she has her babies lined up.

She keeps them in a little crib, and will spend a good part of every day putting them in one by one, then taking each one out, over and over.

 She also picked out a little baby bottle, which she mostly feeds to herself.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for such a wonderful gift!!

And here is bunny number two:  Penelope.  She's a cream colored holland lop.  She's very pretty, but much more timid than Blueberry.

Where the Wild thing is

 Let the mighty rumpus begin!

One day the kids got out some of their costumes.  Hyrum really got into the spirit of being Max King of the Wild Things.  =0)

It's not a purse

I just stopped Hyrum from using the er....pouch on the front of his underwear as a carrying place for his treasures. I don't care HOW convenient it is, you can't store your sunglasses in your Batman underoos!

On Clara's Birthday

On Clara's birthday, I took the children to the zoo.  

Our zoo was having a photography contest for their calendar, so I took a lot of animal pictures.
