On the ferry to San Juan Island
After Hyrum's baptism, we took Russell's parents and spent three days of the next week on San Juan Island. We went whale watching and saw several orca whales, as well as some minke whales and gray whales. We visited a sculpture garden, an alpaca farm, a few beaches and some other pretty sights as well. The island is gorgeous and it was a fun trip!
Sammy was extremely difficult on the whale watching cruise. After awhile he finally fell asleep and we had peace for a good 30 minutes!
Looking for whales!
We were pretty lucky and saw several orcas, they came very close to the boat! It was great!
This one shows how close to the boat they were.
We stopped at the alpaca farm so I could buy some yarn. I love alpacas!!!
Sculpture Garden
The whole island is beautiful!
Fun fruit houses along the road!
The beaches were fun for finding pretty rocks and building forts out of drift wood.
We saw so much wildlife!! Foxes (both red and grey), stellar sea lions, bald eagles, whales, seals, and even a camel. (not wild)
Our whale-watching boat is the one behind them.
And then we took the ferry home. This is us playing games on the ferry ride.
