Summer Part 1

We had three baby bunnies born a couple days after Sam was born.

In May we mostly stayed home with our newborn baby Sam. Heidi's parents came to visit and help out for two weeks. We were so glad they came, having four kids is somehow WAY harder than three!! Russell took Hyrum on a Father/Son camp out, though for some reason he didn't want to bring his other son. When Sam was two weeks old we took him to the Seattle zoo and at three weeks we took him to the beach. The kids continued with school, and when Sam was four weeks old we took him to the Tacoma zoo.

Brielle was chosen from the audience to be in the Point Defiance Animal show.

In June we pulled the kids out of school early and left for Utah to attend Kevin's wedding (Russell's youngest brother). We had a great time with everyone, but driving there was rough, we had to stop the car every two hours to feed, burp, and change Sam (then 6 weeks old), so it took two whole days each way to travel. The kids LOVED seeing all of their Streadbeck cousins!! Two downsides, Brielle tripped over a cousin at the wedding and fell face first on the dance floor, breaking her front permanent tooth, so we spent some time searching for a dentist and getting dental work done. But the best place in the world to have dental trouble is a Mormon wedding reception in Utah, you know there's going to be at least 10 dentists there! And then all the kids came down with illnesses that gave them super high fevers of 105. But other than those hiccups, everything was great. On Father's day we blessed Sam at Scott and Brooke's house. It was nice to have all of Russell's brothers, his Dad, and his Grandpa, there to participate, as well as Heidi's youngest brother Matt.

Russell with all of his siblings.  They're a good looking bunch!!

Our little family was meeting Kevin's bride, Rachel, for the first time the day before their wedding.  She is absolutely delightful, and we're happy to have her in the family!

We went to Hogle Zoo in Utah.  This was Sammy's third zoo, and he wasn't even two month's old yet!

We also visited the Museum of Natural Curiosity, at Thanksgiving Point.  Our kids loved it!

Kaia turned 4 while we were all in Utah, and she had a party with all of  her cousins.

When we got home from Utah we met Spencer and Roma's newest baby girl, Sabrina, who was born in May, one month after Sam.

We spent the 4th of July with Spencer and Roma . We played outside, went to a playground, walked on a floating boardwalk through a marsh, and then barbecued, watched a movie and went to see the city fireworks, down on the waterfront. The kids loved watching the huge fireworks from right underneath them.

One Friday in July we picked Russell up from work and went to Alki  to walk up and down the walkway by the water, and then we went to PF Chang's for dinner.

The rest of July was spent going to parks, libraries, berry picking and playing outside. We've spent a lot of time at home too, because it's hard to get out with a new baby.
